In Judy's Words:

I was inspired by my aunt, Zelda, who escaped from Auschwitz by digging a tunnel with her bare hands. I used to visit her in Williamsburg, Brooklyn when I was a child. I observed that her face was always full of light and love and that she never expressed any resentment despite the horrors she had endured.

The words and work of Benjamin B. Ferencz, a prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials, continue to motivate me.  He wrote, "Nuremberg taught me that creating a world of tolerance and compassion would be a long and arduous task... And I also learned that if we did not devote ourselves to developing effective world law, the same cruel mentality that made the Holocaust possible might one day destroy the entire human race."
